  • Cellulite Treatment: Treating Your Cellulite

Even though there are two schools of thought on cellulite, many cellulite treatments are the same. For example, you may find that both groups recommend exercise, losing weight, drinking more water, strength training, and even cellulite cream or cellulite lotion to help get rid of the appearance of cellulite.

    Cellulite Treatment

No matter what school of thought you put most credence in, the first thing you will want to know about how to get rid of cellulite is the type of exercise you will be doing. Both camps recommend exercise and weight loss as a way to defeat cellulite.

One exercise that is great for getting rid of cellulite, especially on the back of the thigh and the buttocks is jump roping. Jump roping not only burns more calories than other types of aerobic exercise; it also strengthens the muscles in the buttocks and the back of the thighs. This calorie burning reduces the amount of fat all over your body while strengthening the muscles in your cellulite prone areas.

This will give the areas a more toned look, making the cellulite appearance less noticable. For those who think that cellulite is fat and toxins, they agree that jumping rope gets rid of cellulite for all these reasons.

However, they also believe that the jumping motion itself forces the toxins out of the tissue and into the blood stream and lymphatic system to be discarded from the body. Either way, jump roping is a good exercise to help get rid of cellulite on your thighs and buttocks. Strength training is important for getting rid of cellulite for many of the same reasons that jump roping is a good cellulite treatment.

Strengthening the muscles in your cellulite prone areas is a great way to reduce the look of cellulite. Building muscle also increases your metabolism substantially, up to 50 calories per day for every pound of muscle you gain. This can help you reduce the amount of fat all over your body and therefore reduce the amount and appearance of cellulite.

Even if you don't need to lose any weight, strengthening the muscles in your cellulite prone areas can give you a leaner look and reduce the appearance of cellulite. In addition to exercise, most people agree that cellulite cream and cellulite lotion can have an affect, even if it is only a small one, on the appearance of cellulite.

Some people claim that the act of rubbing the cream into the skin actually stretches out that connective tissue and thereby reduces the appearance of cellulite. Other people think that the lotions actually seep into your skin and your fat cells and cause your fat cells to release the toxins that are causing the dimpled appearance.

Either way, most recommend that cellulite lotions and creams be used in conjunction with a diet and exercise program to speed and maximize the results. Finally, there are a variety of other remedies you may find. Some of these say that drinking more water can help reduce cellulite, and maybe it can.

Drinking water is a well-known weight loss aid. Furthermore, if cellulite is caused by toxins of some sort, the water can help your body get rid of them, so drinking plenty of water may help you get rid of cellulite. Some people also recommend cranberry juice or lemon water to reduce cellulite.

These are probably ok to try, because they are not harmful and there may be other benefits to drinking cranberry juice and drinking lemon water, in addition to any loss of cellulite you may see as a result. For example, cranberry juice has anti-bacterial properties and is especially good for those who are prone to urinary tract infections.
