What Causes Cellulite?
There are basically two schools of thought as to what cellulite is. For some, including doctors, cellulite is just plain old fat. The reason why the cellulite looks dimply is because the tissues that connect your skin to the underlying muscles are stretched out, causing fat to have a bulging appearance.
According to doctors, this would help explain why women have cellulite but all but the heaviest men don’t, because women carry fat between their skin and their muscles while men tend to carry fat beneath their muscles.
Some people reject the notion that cellulite is just fat. They believe that cellulite is fat, but also has some toxins in the fat, which gives it the bulging, orange peel appearance.
Some say that the toxins collect on the backs of our legs, or buttocks and on our stomachs for a variety of reasons, from diets that contain too many toxins, to dehydration, and a lack of exercise.
Cellulite Treatment
Even though there are two schools of thought on cellulite, many cellulite treatments are the same. For example, you may find that both groups recommend exercise, losing weight, drinking more water, strength training, and even cellulite cream or cellulite lotion to help get rid of the appearance of cellulite.
